With summer coming around the corner, a timely question is what sunscreen should you go with and why! I’ll give my review on 2 popular French Pharmacy sunscreens made specifically for your face, how to do your makeup around it and which one I’d ultimately re-purchase!

Product descriptions: Both sun sticks are in the same price range at the local French Pharmacies in Paris, as en example my favourite location! Both products are meant for the same purpose, yet I have noticed that they are very different.

La Rosie Stick Solaire: Feels a bit lighter on the skin compared to the SVR’s product. Long lasting, but doesn’t work well with skin makeup. I have tested it both before and after applying concealer ect, but if put on first, makeup cakes on top and doesn’t blend that well and application after is tricky to not smudge contour, bronzer and blush ect around your face.

SVR Sun Secure: Provides a thick protective layer that lasts all day. It might feel a bit heavy during first few applications, but I quite found to enjoy the thick wax like consistency on face. Protects your skin from sun and even harsh air. Doesn’t work well with makeup either, due to the thick consistency.

Why you will love them:

Doesn’t tarnish your skin, even if you apply it multiple times a day.

Gives a clean looking glowey affect on your skin.

Protects your skin from the sun!

Does your Skin Type Affect Product Usability? Yes, I wouldn’t recommend this product for a person who isn’t pleased with their natural skin. Mascara and Eyebrow gel are the only two types of makeup that I have found successful with either of these strong SPF protectives. Both products are great for someone who needs long lasting SPF that protects your skin, for example if you spend the whole day working or laying in the sun, but both require you to be confident with no skin coverage to be enjoyable.
